Sustainable extraction of scandium from lateritic Nickel-Cobalt Ores​

Description: Lateritic ores, formed through extensive weathering, are rich in nickel, cobalt, and valuable rare earth elements like scandium. This PhD project focuses on investigating a pH-controlled process to selectively recover scandium from these ores without disrupting the main nickel-cobalt production. By developing life cycle assessment models, the project aims to enhance the environmental benefits of scandium recovery, supporting more sustainable mining practices.
