Assessing Mineralisation Potential in a Convergent Setting Using a Mantle-to-Crust Continuum Approach

Description: Assessing Mineralisation Potential in a Convergent Setting Using a Mantle-to-Crust Continuum Approach: Insights from the Meratus-Bobaris Complex, SE Kalimantan, Indonesia

This project aims to generate key insights into mineralising processes associated with convergent margins by identifying the factors that control the distribution of potential Alaskan intrusion-related economic minerals and their relationships with adjacent orthomagmatic mineral systems, particularly PGE, Cu, Fe, and Au mineralisation. Insights from the Meratus-Bobaris Complex, SE Kalimantan, Indonesia

Benefits: Unravelling these mantle-to-crust metallogenic relationships will directly contribute to improved exploration models for Alaskan-type systems and adjacent magmatic-related deposits in complex orogenic terranes globally. By establishing robust geochemical and isotopic proxies for metal endowment in underexplored convergent margins, this research will provide practical targeting tools to enhance critical metal discovery.
