This project is supervised by Professor Andrew Berry and co-supervised by Professor Greg Yaxley. The project will provide foundational information on the geochemical behaviour of critical metals as a function of variables such as composition, temperature, pressure and oxygen fugacity. It will focus on understanding how critical metals are mobilised and concentrated in the crust. The project will utilise the world-leading experimental facilities at the Research School of Earth Sciences and the Australian Synchrotron.
BENEFITS
A fundamental understanding of the factors controlling the enrichment of critical metals will inform the research of a large number of projects in the ITTC. It will enhance predictive exploration for new deposits.
