Building geospatial models to inform critical mineral extraction from mine waste – towards a new industry standard

Description: This project aims to develop innovative methodologies for modelling the spatial distribution of critical minerals in mine waste. The research will address:

  • Challenges in accurately modelling and managing mine waste resources.
  • Creating new knowledge to inform the development of industry standards for spatial modelling of critical minerals.

Benefits: The project will provide valuable tools for better managing and extracting critical minerals from mine waste, helping to meet future mineral demands. By improving spatial modelling techniques, the research will support more efficient resource utilisation and contribute to Australia’s leadership in sustainable mineral extraction practices.
