Theme 1 - Accelerating Discovery

Models that underpin critical minerals exploration strategies need to focus on new understanding of geological processes that control critical metal transport and concentration. We will develop innovative models for formation of these deposits as part of a continuum of magmatic and hydrothermal evolution from mantle to upper crust. This theme will develop quantitative tools to enhance exploration programs.

Outcomes may include: 
  • New geological proxies to enhance predictive targeting of critical minerals
  • Distal chemical signatures of critical mineral deposits
  • Knowledge of how of critical mineral deposits are expressed in cover lithologies
  • Fertility signatures for critical mineral systems
