Postdoctoral Fellowship

We currently have one Postdoctoral Research Fellowship available at the Australian National University (ANU).

This position will support Research Theme 2: Accelerate Characterisation, contributing to the project:

  • ANU06  Experimental Geochemistry of Critical Metals

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will spearhead
advancements in mineral exploration and processing, focusing on enhancing our
understanding of ore mineralogy and critical metal behaviour to improve
processing efficiency and sustainability.

In 2026 we currently have on offer 2 PhD stipend scholarships . These projects address major challenges in exploration,
processing, and sustainable management of critical resources.

At the Australian National University (1 scholarships):

  • ANU02 – Partitioning of REE and CM between crystals, melts and fluids and in situ XAS studies of metal transport  


At Adelaide University (1 scholarships):

  • AU02 – Developing geochemical vectoring tools for the exploration of large, metal-endowed skarn deposit


What We Offer:

  • Hands-On Experience: Conduct research in cutting-edge labs with real-world industry collaboration.
  • Industry Placement: A 12-month placement with an industry partner provides practical insights and professional development.
  • Financial Support:
    • Tuition fee coverage
    • Stipend of approx $36,000+/year for up to 3.5 years
    • Support for travel and equipment based on project needs

Your Role:

As a PhD candidate, you will:

  • Conduct impactful, innovative research aligned with national critical minerals strategies
  • Collaborate with leading researchers and industry professionals
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable and efficient mineral systems
