UWA Rachman Fauzi

PHD, University of New England, University of Western Australia

National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia, PHD, University of Western Australia

Rachman is pursuing a PhD in Geology at the University of Western Australia under the supervision of Prof Marco Fiorentini, Prof Tony Kemp, and Dr Ria Mukherjee. His research focuses on the tectono-metallogenic relationship between Ural-Alaskan Type Intrusions and Cu-Au Porphyry in arc convergent environments in the Meratus-Bobaris Complex, SE Borneo, Indonesia, and the Fifield Complex, NSW. The aim is to uncover significant factors and processes within the tectono-metallogenic framework that influence the distribution of economic minerals, particularly PGE mineralization. His work will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of exploration, as well as contribute to the understanding of tectonic and geodynamic processes leading to critical mineral deposition in a convergent arc.

In addition to his PhD, Rachman works at Research Center for Geological Resources, National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN). He has significant experience in the exploration of critical and strategic mineral in several regions in Indonesia.

Rachman holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia and Master of Geoscience from the School of Earth Sciences, the University of Western Australia. His master project focuses on characterization of PGE and sulfide mineralisation associated with chromite in layered mafic intrusion in the Windimurra and Narndee Igneous Complexes, WA.
