Paul Hodkiewicz brings more than 35 years of industry and academic experience spanning exploration, mining operations, geoscience R&D, and innovation. As founder of Samarah Solutions, he provides independent consulting, advisory, mentoring, and training services focused on advanced drilling, rock-characterisation technologies, resource evaluation, and integrated mining operations.
Previously, Paul held senior leadership roles at Anglo American—including Head of Geoscience Transformation and Head of Integrated Geoscience—where he drove global R&D, technology adoption, and data-analytics initiatives. Earlier in his career he led technology development and resource evaluation projects at BHP, directed geoscience consulting at SRK Consulting, and gained hands-on exploration and mining experience with Newmont and Freeport-McMoRan.
Paul believes great mentoring is built on communication and trust, and he views it as a two-way street: “I look forward to learning new things from every mentoring relationship.” With two decades of formal and informal mentoring experience, he is happy to share what has worked in his career—and, just as importantly, what hasn’t—so mentees can benefit from both his successes and lessons learned.
