Manager, Mineral Systems & Resources, Geological Survey of South Australia
Carmen Krapf is a Senior Principal Geologist and Manager of the Mineral Systems & Resources Team at the Geological Survey of South Australia. With more than 25 years’ experience across academia and government, she leads projects that deliver high-quality pre-competitive datasets and industry advice, including South Australia’s flagship Critical Minerals Project. Carmen collaborates widely with government, CSIRO, universities, professional societies and industry, and is a passionate advocate for geoscience and the conservation of South Australia’s geoheritage sites.
Based in Adelaide, Carmen is keen to meet and support students in person—making it especially convenient for those from the University of Adelaide—but is equally happy to mentor students from anywhere through online catch-ups. She looks forward to helping mentees explore career pathways and understand the real-world impact of geoscience.
